Pre Mature Closure of account

The Kisan Vikas Patra is a small savings tool that will make it easier for people to contribute to long-term savings plans.

KVP interest rate

Interest rate for KVP is 7.5% for this quarter, compounded annually.

Submit Application

The account may be prematurely closed by the account holder by making an application in Form-3 to the accounts office, at any time before maturity under following circumstances, namely:-

Death of the account holder

On the death of the account holder in a single account, or any or all the account holders in a joint account.

Pledge

On forfeiture by a pledge, being a Gazetted Officer

Court Order

When ordered by a court

Payment of interest, principal

On the closure of the account principal amount along with simple interest calculated at the rate applicable from time to time to Post Office Savings Account for the complete months for which the account has been held, will be payable.
